The Awesome, Supernatural, Penetrating Power of the Word of God

Sermon Notes

1. The Word of God penetrates us in the very core of our being (12).
  • It is living
  • It is active
  • It is shaper than any two-edged sword
    - piercing as far as dividing the soul and spirit
    - joints and marrow
    - judging the thoughts and intentions of the heart

2. The Word of God exposes us to show us our need (13).

3. The Word of God draws us to Jesus for He is the only One who can help us in our needs (14-16).

So what?

If there is little or no exposure to the Word, there will be little or no penetration of the Word, there will be little or no exposure of our needs by the Word, there will be little or no calling on Jesus through the Word, and there will be little or no presence of the Word/Jesus in the midst of those needs.
