Mother's Day Out Ministry at Dallas Bible Church (begins September 8th)

Mother's Day Out is a ministry of Dallas Bible Church to mothers and children and is available as an outreach to our surrounding community. Our purpose is to provide a quality and loving environment for children to learn and play allowing Mothers a time of refreshment and renewal. Our MDO is available for children ages infant through kindergarten and meets on Thursday, 9:00 am-1:00 pm. We have two semesters of MDO: 20 weeks in the Spring and 16 weeks in the Fall with Summer Camps.

MDO is a Christ-centered, child-focused, creative learning environment that provides a balance of directed activities and free play. Each class is designed to allow children to develop spiritually, socially, emotionally and creatively at his/her own pace. A Christian environment is an important part of our program and is centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ and a monthly chapel theme with Christian virtues. Our leaders and teachers are screened with background checks and provide godly role models.

Mother's Day Out Age Groups

Infant (3 months by Aug. 1)

Our infant room teachers provide a warm loving atmosphere in which infants are nurtured. Activities in our nursery provide for free play as well as teacher-infant interaction. (All nursing babies must easily accept a bottle.)

Toddler (Toddling through Trained)

Children are promoted to our toddler room when they walk independently. Our toddler teachers provide an atmosphere promoting natural development through unstructured activities, free play, group play, music and Bible stories. Christian ideals are emphasized through practicing good manners and learning to share. Books, songs, and object labeling are some of the things introduced to the children.

Preschool A (Trained through "Sit & Listen")

Children are promoted to our Preschool A Class when they are completely toilet trained. Generally this is around 24-30 months of age. Teachers for the two - three year olds encourage the development of cooperative play and sustained listening/focus skills through short Bible stories and guided pre-learning activities that relate to a simple theme. The class schedule includes monthly chapel, music and story time on a regular basis. Activities and crafts introduce colors, seasons, holidays and shapes in a fun way.

Preschool B ("Sit & Listen" through Pre-K)

Children that have passed their third birthday and demonstrate they are ready to "sit & listen" to a short Bible story or make a simple activity are ready for Preschool B. This class provides continued learning of Bible stories and Christian virtues as well as colors, shapes and numbers through a multi-sensory approach to learning in a fun, non-pressured atmosphere. Activities will continue to promote the development of large and small motor skills and kindergarten readiness. Class schedule includes chapel, music and story time on a regular basis.

Do You Love Children?

DBC Mother's Day Out is always looking for loving, Christian individuals to add to our staff. We need part-time and full-time teachers and we need substitutes.

Mother's Day Out staff and assistants need practical experience. Pre-school teachers (teaching three and four year olds through Home School) are preferred to have education degrees. If you love children and want to have fun on the job, Mother's Day Out Director Jaci Buczek can give you more information.

Registration

Registration occurs twice during the calendar year: beginning in November for the Spring Term and in April for the Fall Term. A priority is given to church members and currently enrolled. Registration is then opened to the community as space is available. The Summer Camps will be offered as planned.

To register your child(ren), complete the enrollment forms and return them to the director no later than the deadline on the application. As a space is available for your child(ren), you will be contacted to make the registration/supply fee deposit to hold your space(s). If spaces are filled (or if you wish to be) you will be placed on the Substitute List for a class. No deposit is required and you will be contacted if an enrolled child is unable to attend to be offered the space for that day(s). Payment for that day is to be made directly to the enrolled Mom you are replacing. All sub's agreements and fulfillments are between the enrolled mother and the sub that she chooses to contact.
