PREPARING FOR EASTER
Lent, a season of preparation for Easter, calls us to reflect on the suffering of Jesus for our sins. To be considered righteous and worthy of eternal life with God, the penalty for our sin had to be paid. In response we are not called to shame but to repentence. Shame demands obedience, which leads to pride. Repentence acknowledges the gift of salvation, creating a desire for a life not of the flesh and an intimate relationship with God.
Join us as we actively reflect as a church body on the joy that Jesus' resurrection brings us.
Easter Week Reading Plan
We can prepare for the celebration of Easter through Scripture reading. Often, we jump to the end of Easter Week to celebrate Jesus' resurrection without experiencing the fear, agony, sacrifice, and grief of the entire week. Scripture details for us the way that Jesus purposely headed to the cross to suffer and die for us. Through this reading guide, we are able to intentionally remember all that our Savior experienced between Palm Sunday and Resurrection Sunday.
24 Hours of Prayer
Thursday, April 2 and April 9
As a church body we will intentionally pray through a guided prayer list for the Easter weekend. Sign up for 30-minutes blocks of prayer time from 7AM to 7PM to be sure we, as a church body, engage in prayer for the entire day on both Thursdays leading up to Easter.
