Pre-School Ministry

No one is too young to know they are loved, and love can be powerfully shown in a variety of forms—from caring for basic needs to gently correcting behavior, to sharing new experiences. Those who are shown unconditional love early in life, are best equipped to see it in God later in life, and to show it to others as they grow.

The pre-school ministry is tailored for children birth to age 5. Since preschoolers are active learners, we offer a variety of teaching opportunities through Bible stories, songs, play, crafts and more. There are huge developmental differences in these early years, so we offer age-specific classes to make the time we spend with your child as meaningful as possible.

Infants/Crawlers

DBC provides a staffed nursery for infants and crawlers (Room 110). Parents are free to use this room, as needed, or leave their child in the loving care of a worker. The room is low-lit, to provide a soothing, calming atmosphere for these little ones. Rockers, cribs, toys and changing tables are provided. There is no set curriculum for this class.

Toddlers (Walkers)

Children who have learned to walk, but are not two years old meet in the Toddler Room (Room 108). Since there is a high worker-to-child ratio in this class, your child will receive a lot of attention. Time is usually spent reading Bible stories, praying, enjoying snacks and working on social skills during free-play (skills such as sharing and picking up toys). There is no set curriculum for this class.

2 Year-Olds  |  3 Year-Olds  |  4 Year-Olds

We provide separate classes for 2 year-olds (Room 109) and 3 year-olds (Room 107) and offer a third class for 4-year olds/Pre-K (Room 105). These classes offer age-appropriate opportunities to hear God's Word taught in simple language. Children are encouraged to engage the Biblical truths they are taught through discussion, singing, activities, games, memory work and worship.

Check In

If you would like your child to participate in the Pre-School program, bring him or her to the Preschool's Sign In Desk around 9:00 a.m. (or any time) on Sunday morning. Tell the volunteer the name and age of your child, and any information that you consider to be vital to his/her care (such as allergies, learning differences, etc.). The volunteer will help direct your child's class.

For your child’s safety, we request that you walk your child to his or her KBF class and meet your child’s teacher. We also request that you pick your child up from the KBF teacher at the end of class. Do not ask your child to come find you. The teachers are required to release the child only to the parent that dropped the child off.

Pick Up

If your child is pre-school age, he/she is welcome to stay in their classroom from 9:00 a.m. (or whenever you arrive) until the end of the Worship service at 11:30 a.m.
