FUN at DBC on Wednesday evenings – 6:30! BE THERE

Kid’s Ministry at DBC on Wednesday evenings is FUN… and we spell it A.W.A.N. A. (“Approved Workmen are Not Ashamed” 2 Timothy 2:15!) While kids are having fun playing great games and making new friends, they’re growing spiritually and learning about God, too! AWANA is open to kids ages 3 though 6th grade, and you do not need to attend DBC to participate (although if you don’t have a church home, we invite you to DBC.)

Children have an Awana handbook that guides them through God’s Word, memorizing verses and learning spiritual truths that expand their minds and hearts. We talk about life lessons and build relationships with trained Awana Leaders that are here to invest time and love into the children. Awana is a fun way to build our kids into spiritual champions!

Awana is divided into 3 clubs for pre-school and school age kids. Cubbies is for preschoolers. Sparks is for Kindergarten through 2nd graders. Each Awana club is age appropriate and teaches kids that God is REAL, He loves us very much and sent His Son, Jesus Christ. We talk about how God helps us in our daily lives and hears our prayers. We learn that God’s Word is relevant to our lives today and that hiding His word is our heart is beneficial.

The goal of AWANAs is to give kids the chance to know, love and serve God!

How to Register for Awana:

Registration begins on Sunday, August 19, in the church foyer. Spaces in each club are limited so register early. Registration forms are available at the Children’s Ministry Information desk or you may download the form here.

Clubs for Kids

The AWANA program consists of several age-specific clubs all rolled into one:

CUBBIES—3 Year Olds to PreSchool

Awana Cubbies is a two-year weekly club program for preschoolers in the two years prior to kindergarten. Our purpose is to help your children take their first steps on a lifelong spiritual journey. Children in this age group are expressive. They are forming a basic understanding of their environment. They like to explore and enjoy stories, like those in the Bible.

SPARKS—Kindergarten through 2nd Grade

This club for Kindergarten through 2nd graders combines learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement. Clubbers will learn basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation and the Bible. In addition to spiritual learning, important social skills such as sharing, listening, and relating to others are developed. Team-oriented games and awards presentations add to the fun. Children in this age group are eager learners, and many come to understand their need to trust Christ as their personal Savior while in Sparks. We are blessed to be a part of the training of your children.
